A quick one - anyone know what the top possible score on the SAT is? I've been studying hard and I just want to know what number I should be aiming for when I finally take the test.
The highest possible score you can achieve on the SAT is a 1600. This score is the sum of the maximum scores on both sections: 800 on Evidence-Based Reading and Writing, and 800 on the Math section.
It's excellent that you are pushing yourself! However, it's important to know that while a perfect score is an exciting goal to have, even at the most competitive schools plenty of applicants get in without a perfect 1600. Anything above a 1500 will put you in excellent position at nearly any school, so don't beat yourself up if you don't quite hit perfection.
That being said, if you want some final tips to help you on your quest for 1600, I'd check out this blog post from CollegeVine, which is designed for students just like you who are aiming as high as possible! https://blog.collegevine.com/how-to-get-a-perfect-1600-score-on-the-sat/
Keep up the hard work, and good luck!
