Highly-rated colleges for Criminal Justice?

Hey everyone! I'm very passionate about pursuing a career in Criminal Justice. I've been trying to research which colleges have strong programs in this field. Does anyone have any recommendations for good colleges for Criminal Justice?

Sure, there are quite a few colleges known for having strong programs in Criminal Justice.

One of the top ones to consider is the University of Maryland, College Park. Their Department of Criminology and Criminal Justice is consistently ranked in the top three nationwide. They have a thorough curriculum that explores all aspects of crime and the criminal justice system, in both theoretical and applied forms.

Northeastern University in Boston also has a great program. Their School of Criminology and Criminal Justice covers areas like law and society, crime mapping, and domestic and international security. Also, their co-op program provides hands-on experience in settings like law enforcement agencies and legal offices.

Rutgers University in New Jersey is another excellent choice. The School of Criminal Justice at Rutgers was one of the first programs of its kind in the country; it offers degrees in criminal justice, where students get to learn from accomplished faculty who are experts in the field.

University of Pennsylvania (UPenn) offers a Criminology program that is known for its interdisciplinary approach. The program encourages students to explore the issue of crime from multiple perspectives like sociology, law, psychology, and public policy.

Lastly, John Jay College of Criminal Justice in New York is centered around criminal justice and has a large offering of related majors and minors. The school is unique in that it focuses solely on this field, and it's one of the few colleges in the nation to do so. This allows their curriculum to dive deeper into areas of criminal justice than most general universities.

Each of these schools has strong faculty, research opportunities, and internships, which will provide you with a well-rounded education in criminal justice. Make sure to dive deeper into each program to determine which best aligns with your career goals and personal interests.
