Could anyone tell me what the typical SAT score is for getting into UCLA? I can't seem to find a straight answer anywhere and my own score is making me a little nervous. Any help is appreciated!
As of the 2024-2025 application cycle, UCLA is test-blind, meaning they do not consider SAT or ACT scores at all in their admissions process. Therefore, they don't publish an average SAT score or a middle 50% range for SAT scores anymore.
Focus on strengthening other components of your application, like your grades, your essays, and your extracurricular involvement. Remember, UCLA is looking for students who have a highly-developed specialty (often called a "spike") and not just well-rounded students with good test scores.
In your application to UCLA, spend time crafting your Personal Insight Questions thoughtfully. These are a key part of the UC application and give you a chance to share more about your experiences, passions, and any obstacles you've overcome. You'll also want to take challenging courses and maintain high grades, as UCLA does take into account the rigor of your high school coursework. Lastly, your extracurricular activities play a significant role as well, so try to demonstrate leadership, depth of involvement, and impact in those areas.
