Can anybody tell me about UCLA admission and SAT scores?

Hey folks! So, I've been looking into UCLA and was wondering what kind of SAT scores they're looking for. I've been prepping like crazy and want to know if I'm on the right track. Any info helps, thanks!

Sure, I can provide some guidance on this, but note that things have changed a bit recently.

UCLA, like the rest of the UC system, switched to a test-blind policy starting from the 2020-2021 application cycle, which means that they do not consider SAT or ACT scores at all for admission. This policy still stands as of the 2024-2025 application cycle.

Instead of test scores, admissions officials at UCLA will focus more on other aspects of your application such as your GPA, the rigor of your courses, your essays, extracurricular activities, and other material you provide on your application. So, while preparing for SATs might have been an integral part of the college admissions process in the past, for UCLA and similar schools, the time may be better spent elsewhere.

If you've been prepping for the SATs and are looking for a way to showcase your academic abilities, focusing on your coursework and keeping your GPA up may be the best way to do so. Engaging in meaningful extracurricular activities and putting together compelling essays for your application will also help to demonstrate your strengths and commitment.

Remember, a strong application is about more than just one single factor, so don't get too hung up on testing. Instead, look at all the different ways you can showcase your abilities and fit for UCLA. Good luck!
