UGA Acceptance - What are the stats?

The University of Georgia (UGA) is a relatively selective school, with an acceptance rate of approximately 37.2%. This figure changes year on year, so do take it as an estimate. As for the stats, accepted students typically have SAT scores ranging from 1230 to 1410 (middle 50%) and ACT scores between 27-32 (middle 50%). GPA averages tend to be quite high, with the average weighted GPA of accepted students being around 4.14.

To boost your chances, consider showing a strong background in rigorous coursework, like AP or IB classes, demonstrating that you can handle the academic hurdles posed by a university like UGA. Your extracurricular involvements also provide a chance to show leadership or deep involvement. UGA uses a holistic approach to admissions, so they'll want to see more than just strong academics.

Lastly, UGA requires both a personal statement and a UGA-specific supplemental essay. Thoroughly thought-out, well-written essays can showcase your personality, drive, and potential contribution to UGA's community—factors that can definitely sway the admissions committee's decision in a positive way.

Keep in mind these are averages and ranges so grades and test scores below these numbers do not rule out a potential acceptance, likewise, those above don't guarantee one. Good luck with your application!
