Ranking of Illinois Institute of Technology CS program?

Hello all! So, I'm definitely interested in majoring in Computer Science and the Illinois Institute of Technology is one of the schools I'm looking at. Does anyone know how their CS program ranks nationally and what kind of opportunities it presents?

The Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT) has a solid Computer Science program with an emphasis on practical application and hands-on learning. In recent years, IIT has been ranked around the top 100 nationally for its Computer Science undergraduate program. However, considering that there are over 500 universities in the country that offer CS, this is a fairly good ranking.

More importantly, Illinois Tech's CS program is known for its robust curriculum that closely aligns with the demands of the evolving tech field. They offer multiple specialty tracks within their computer science degree, allowing students to focus on areas such as Data Science, Information Security, or Software Engineering.

As for opportunities, being situated in Chicago, you'll have access to various internships, co-op programs, and potential job opportunities due to the city's burgeoning tech scene. Additionally, Illinois Tech is part of the IPRO (Interprofessional Projects) Program, which gives students the chance to work on real-world collaborative projects. Their vibrant tech-oriented clubs and organizations also provide great platforms for networking and hands-on experience.

It's worth noting that what ultimately matters the most is how effectively you leverage the resources available to you rather than the university's ranking. Developing your core technical skills, working on projects, interning at companies, and networking—these activities will significantly aid your professional development, regardless of the school you choose. Good luck with your decision-making process!
