What's the Biz at Marquette University?

Hey everyone, I'm starting to narrow down my schools and Marquette University is on the list. What options do they offer in terms of business majors? What’s the reputation of their business school? Are there any standout programs within the business school that I should be aware of?

Marquette University has a variety of options in terms of business majors at their College of Business Administration. These majors include Accounting, Economics, Finance, Human Resources, Information Systems, Marketing, Real Estate, and Operations & Supply Chain Management. They also offer a comprehensive Business Administration major—an excellent route if you'd like to sample a breadth of fields within business as part of your studies.

The College of Business Administration at Marquette has a solid reputation. According to U.S. News & World Report's latest business school rankings, Marquette's undergraduate business program ranks in the top 100 nationwide. The program is also acknowledged for its direct engagement with both Milwaukee's urban community and global organizations, creating ample hands-on learning opportunities for its students.

Marquette's Information Systems, Supply Chain Management, and Real Estate programs significantly stand out. Their Information Systems major is known for placing students in highly sought-after IT and business roles post-graduation. Likewise, the Supply Chain Management major is NGSupplyChain approved and is recognized for its high placement rates in logistic companies. Lastly, their Real Estate program is one of the few to be housed within a business school, giving students a strong foundation in business principles related to the real estate industry.

Remember to delve into course catalogues, speak to current students and alums if possible, understand what opportunities for internships or co-op exist, and consider whether the ‘fit’ feels right for you. Marquette certainly has a diverse business program to offer, but your personal alignment with the programs and the campus culture is key. Good luck with your search!
