New Jersey Universities for International Students?

International student here! Looking at universities in New Jersey but not sure how friendly they are to international students. Does anyone have insights or experiences about this they could share?

In terms of New Jersey universities that are known to have robust support and resources for international students, a few stand out. These include Rutgers University, Princeton University, The College of New Jersey (TCNJ), and Stevens Institute of Technology.

Princeton University is known for its rigorous academics and vibrant international community. The Davis International Center offers a wide array of programs and services to international students and can be an incredible resource. Services include guidance on visa regulations, providing cultural adjustment programs, and a host family program, which can all contribute to a smoother transition into life in the U.S.

Rutgers University, particularly its New Brunswick campus, is known for having a large international student population, so they have plenty of resources to offer international students. The Center for Global Services, based at New Brunswick, supports the international student community in adapting to the U.S. and navigating the university system.

The College of New Jersey (TCNJ) has a Center for Global Engagement that works to help international students adjust to life on campus and in the U.S. It offers orientation programs, academic advice, and assistance with legal status issues.

Stevens Institute of Technology has a dedicated Office of International Students and Scholars (OISS) that supports and advises international students.

Remember, it's important to look beyond just the resources offered and consider how diverse the campus community is, if it's a priority for you. A diverse student body can provide a more inclusive environment for international students. Personally visiting (if possible) or virtual tours and interactions with students can also provide good insights about the atmosphere for international students.
