Question about UF acceptance rate

Hey guys, I'm planning on applying to the University of Florida in the fall and I'm just wondering if anyone knows what their current acceptance rate is? Is it super competitive or can a person with a decent GPA and extracurriculars have a shot? Thanks!

The University of Florida (UF) is indeed quite a competitive school. As of the most recent data available, UF's acceptance rate stands at approximately 23%, which makes it a highly competitive institution. I often suggest applicants to look beyond just the acceptance rate though, as it can sometimes paint a skewed picture.

Having a strong GPA certainly gives you a solid foundation, but remember that UF, like many selective schools, adopts holistic admissions. This means they consider aspects of your application beyond just academics, such as your extracurricular involvement, your application essays, and letters of recs.

Speaking of it, when it comes to extracurriculars, it's not just about quantity, but also about quality and depth. Generally, for very selective colleges, successful students often have 8-10 extracurriculars in total but they tend to be highly-involved in a few. This shows the commitment and the passion you have for these activities. Using the 4 Tiers of Extracurriculars can be really helpful in determining how strong of a candidate you are.

Remember, while acceptance rates can give you a general sense of a school's selectivity, your individual circumstances, strengths, and application packaging can significantly influence your admission prospects. Good luck!
