Help a junior out: What's an average PSAT score?

I'm a junior and recently just took my PSATs. I'm quickly realizing I have no idea what I'm supposed to be aiming for. Could someone enlighten me as to what a typical, 'average' PSAT score usually looks like?

The PSAT is scored on a scale of 320 to 1520. The two sections, Math and Evidence-Based Reading and Writing, are scored separately on a scale of 160 to 760 and then combined for a total score.

The average or median score hovers around 920-930, meaning about half of test takers score below this and half score above. A score above 920-930 would be considered above average, while a score of 1010 or higher would put you in the top 50% of test takers.

Remember, your PSAT score is not only a good practice for the SAT, but it also qualifies you for the National Merit Scholarship Program if your score is exceptionally high.

Keep in mind that the PSAT is also considered somewhat easier than the SAT, so it's okay if your score isn't exactly where you want it to be. This test serves as a great opportunity to identify areas you want to focus on to improve before you take your SATs.
