What's the average SAT score for Harvard?

Hey there! I've been doing some research on Harvard and aiming for it as my dream school. Does anybody know what the average SAT score for admitted students is? I'm trying to figure out what I should be shooting for on my next SAT to make my application competitive. Thanks in advance!

Hello! According to CollegeVine data, the middle 50% SAT score range for students accepted to Harvard is typically around 1500 - 1580. This range essentially means that 25% of accepted students scored below a 1500, and 25% of accepted students scored above a 1580.

To have a competitive application, your SAT score should ideally be within or surpass this range. However, do remember that your SAT score is just one part of your application. Harvard will also consider other factors, such as your course rigor, grades, extracurricular involvement, recommendation letters, and essays, to name a few.

Getting a high score on your SAT can definitely strengthen your application, but it doesn't guarantee admission. An SAT score below this range doesn't automatically disqualify you either, so long as the other components of your application are strong. Best of luck with your test prep and your application!
