Northwestern SAT Scores

Hey friends, I've been thinking about applying to Northwestern and I'm curious about the average SAT scores there. Does anyone know what I should aim for to have a competitive application?

Hi there, it's great that you're considering Northwestern University! The average SAT score for accepted students is typically quite high due to the school's selective nature. As of the last few classes, the middle 50% SAT score range for accepted students was around 1490-1530.

Aim for a score in the upper half of this range to be competitive. However, keep in mind that a strong SAT score alone won't guarantee you admission into Northwestern. Other factors like your GPA, the rigor of your course load, your letters of recommendation, your extracurricular activities, and your essays also play crucial roles in the admission decision.

Also, remember that starting from 2024-2025 application cycle, Northwestern will remain test-optional. Make sure you're preparing accordingly, and good luck with your application!
