SAT Score Requirements for Clemson

Hey folks, I'm stressing over here about the SAT. Planning on applying to Clemson University. Does anyone know what their SAT score requirements are? I need to know if I should retake or not. Thanks in advance.

I can definitely understand why you'd be checking SAT score requirements as you finalize your list of colleges.

As of the 2024-2025 application cycle, Clemson University is currently test-optional. However, if you choose to submit your SAT score, it can help strengthen your application, especially if it's within or above the middle 50% range of admitted students.

For Fall 2023 first-year students, the middle 50% of SAT scores fell between 1240-1400. As a rule of thumb, if your scores fall in this range, you stand a competitive chance. If your score is above this range, even better, as this would place you in the upper quartile of admitted students in terms of SAT scores.

Make note that Clemson, like many universities, also considers other parts of your application, such as GPA, rigor of high school curriculum, activities and leadership, personal essays, and character. So while your SAT score is a part of your application, it's not the only factor determining your acceptance.

I’d recommend deciding whether or not to retake the SAT based on your current score in relation to these averages. Hope this clears up your concerns!
