UC Berkeley SAT requirement?

I'm applying to UC Berkeley next year (dream school, amirite?). But, I heard the SAT might not be a requirement any more? Can anybody confirm this? PS: Any tips for the application would be appreciated.

You're correct. Beginning with the 2024-2025 application cycle, all University of California schools, which include UC Berkeley, have become test-blind. This means that these schools will not consider SAT or ACT scores at all, even if you choose to submit them. So, you won't need to worry about the SAT for your UC Berkeley application.

As for the application, here are a few tips:

1. Strong Academics: With test scores off the table, GPA and course rigor become even more crucial. Take challenging courses, like AP or IB, to show readiness for college academics.

2. Extracurriculars: Having strong extracurricular involvement, preferably in Tier 1 or Tier 2 activities, can showcase your dedication, passion, and leadership skills.

3. UC Personal Insight Questions: Each response should be a clear narrative that showcases personal growth, introspection, or tangible impact. Avoid generic responses and cliché storylines. Personalize each answer to your own experiences and make sure your voice shines through.

4. Review Your Application: Make sure all information is accurate and complete. Proofread for errors.

Hope that helps and best of luck with your UC Berkeley application!
