Duke's expectations for Standardized Test Scores?

Hi everyone! I'm setting my sights on Duke and I'm really unsure about their standardized test requirements. Are they only looking for SAT and ACT or are other tests like APs and IBs worth considering into the mix as well?

Duke University strongly relies on standardized test scores in its admissions process. For the SAT and ACT, Duke does not state a minimum or "cut-off" score, but rather considers the scores in the context of your overall application.

To give you a sense of what's typical, the middle 50% range of admitted students for the SAT is between 1520 and 1570 (on a 1600 scale) and for the ACT it's between 33 and 35.

AP and IB scores, while not required, can be submitted if you feel they accurately reflect your academic ability and potential. They won't hold the same weight as the SAT/ACT in application review, but they provide additional context about your academic strengths. Remember that the scores from the AP classes you've taken, and the rigor of taking IB classes, also matter as they can demonstrate your academic challenge and coursework.

Also, keep in mind that Duke like many other academically competitive schools practices a holistic review of applications. This means that test scores are just one part of the equation, and your essays, extracurricular activities, and other aspects of your application will also play a significant role in their decision-making process.
