What are typical FAU SAT Scores?

Hi everyone, I am studying for the SATs right now and Florida Atlantic University is one of my top choices. Just wanted to ask, what are the typical SAT scores for accepted students at FAU? Helps me set a target score, ya know? Also, has anyone gotten in with low scores but great extracurriculars or similar? All insights welcome.

Hello! According to Florida Atlantic University’s data from previous admission cycles, the middle 50% of admitted students usually score between 1050 and 1210 on the SAT. Keep in mind, though, that this encompasses a broad range of students and isn't a hard-and-fast rule.

That being said, since FAU uses a holistic admissions process, they also look at other factors beyond just your SAT scores. This means that even if your scores are on the lower end, strong elements in other areas of your application could still earn you an acceptance letter.

One of those areas is indeed extracurricular activities. If you have a hefty list of impactful activities where you held leadership roles or contributed significantly, that can definitely help. Also, courses, grades, personal essays, and letters of recommendation play a considerable part in decisions.

Remember, reaching or exceeding the middle 50% range can improve chances but it doesn't guarantee admission, as the university considers the entire application package. So aim for that SAT score, but be sure to work on accentuating other aspects of your application as well!

Best of luck with your preparations.
