What are the entry requirements for Florida State University?

Hey guys, been lurking on here for a while but first time posting. I'm a junior in high school and I've always been interested in Florida State University. Been Googling a lot but can't seem to find a straightforward set of entry requirements. Does anyone have a good source or knowledge on what ACT/SAT scores, high school GPA, or any other requirements are needed for FSU? Thanks for the help!

Hello! You're on the right track with looking at ACT/SAT scores and high school GPA as part of the entry requirements for FSU. To provide you with some specifics, FSU generally looks for students with ACT scores in the 27 - 31 range, or SAT scores around 1250 - 1380. Please note that FSU super-scores both the ACT and the SAT, meaning they take the highest scores from different test dates and combine them for a new total highest score.

In terms of GPA, the average unweighted GPA is 3.72 and the average weighted GPA is 4.26. Please be aware FSU recalculates applicants' GPAs using only academic core classes, plus an additional weight for any honors, Advanced Placement, AICE, or International Baccalaureate classes you've taken.

However, don't forget that FSU, like most universities, reviews applications holistically. This means they consider much more than test scores and GPAs. Your extracurricular activities, course rigor, and application essay also play a significant role in the admission decision. For your essay, be sure to stay authentic and sincere while relating your experiences or aspirations to what you hope to achieve at FSU.

Most importantly, always cross-verify these details from the official university website or through contact with the university's admissions office, since admission requirements may vary from year to year. Best of luck with your application!
