Good Score for ACT Test

Hey people, I'm freaking out a bit about the ACT. What would you consider a good score on this test? I could use a benchmark.

A good ACT score ultimately depends on the colleges you're interested in applying to. However, in general terms, a score of 20 is considered average, as it's the median score of all ACT test takers. If you score above that, you're doing better than half of the students who take it!

Now, if we're talking about getting into more competitive colleges, a "good" ACT score would likely be a bit higher. For example, highly selective schools often have average ACT scores in the range of 30-34.

Ultimately, you should research the average ACT scores of admitted students at the colleges on your list to get a better sense of what might be competitive for those institutions. For instance, if you look at a university's average ACT between 24-30, and you score a 28 or higher, you would be in good shape.

Remember, while your ACT score is significant, it's not the only factor colleges consider during their admissions decisions. They'll also look at your GPA, extracurricular activities, recommendation letters, and essays. Good luck!
