Syracuse Communications Major worth it?

Hello friends! I'm considering Syracuse's Communications program. Anyone currently enrolled or graduated? I'd love to hear thoughts on the curriculum, professors, internship opportunities etc. Thanks in advance!

Responding as a College Admissions Counselor:

Syracuse University's Newhouse School, which is where you would be if you pursued a Communications major, is one of the highest-ranked in the country for good reason. It boasts a solid curriculum built on a well-rounded approach, emphasizing both theory and hands-on practice. The school is known for its strong faculty, many of whom have rich industry experience and academic credentials.

One of the strengths of Syracuse's program is its focus on preparing students for real-world roles in the Communications field. This is evident not only from the curriculum, which covers a range of topics from digital communications to public relations and advertising, but also from the school's career-oriented resources. Syracuse offers internship placement support, including a shared database with potential employers, and there are plenty of opportunities for internships both on- and off-campus given the school's good relations with various media outlets.

Additionally, being a part of the Newhouse School opens doors to an expansive alumni network. Systems are in place to connect students with the alumni for mentorship and potential job placement.

Each program will be different for each student and prioritizing your academic and career needs is key when making these decisions. I'd encourage you to gather as much information as possible, hearing from current students and alumni would certainly provide an insider's perspective. I hope this helps to give at least an introductory impression of the program. Best of luck with your decision!
