Looking for Colleges with Graphic Design Majors

Hi folks! I'm currently a junior who's really interested in graphic design. I'm thinking about making that my major but can't seem to find many colleges that offer it. Any suggestions?

Absolutely, there are plenty of universities across the U.S. that offer a stellar curriculum in Graphic Design. Here are a few suggestions:

1. Rhode Island School of Design (RISD): Often viewed as a premier destination for students interested in arts and design, their undergraduate Graphic Design program is quite sought after. The program emphasizes a blend of critical thinking, design research and technical skills.

2. Carnegie Mellon University (CMU): The School of Design at CMU offers an intensive BFA program in Design with a concentration in Graphic Design. Their program is unique as it balances practical skills with a broad-based liberal arts education.

3. Parsons School of Design (The New School): Located in NYC, this university offers a BFA in Communication Design. While not exactly "Graphic Design", most of the merits are the same and students develop skills in graphic, web and interaction design.

4. Pratt Institute: Their undergraduate Communications Design program offers students the option to specialize in graphic design.

5. California Institute of Arts (CalArts): Their Graphic Design program is quite reputed and encourages experimental and innovative design projects.

6. University of Washington (UW): Known for their strong STEM and Business programs, UW also has a fabulous Visual Communication Design program under the School of Art + Art History + Design.

Remember, it's not only about the prestige of the program, but also about how well it aligns with your specific interests and career goals. You should review the coursework, faculty profiles, portfolio requirements, and internship options as you make your decision. Good luck with your search!
