What's the Max Score for the GRE?

I've been reading about grad school, and the GRE keeps coming up. Just a quick question, does anyone know the max score for the GRE?

Absolutely, the GRE (Graduate Record Examinations) is scored on a scale for each of its three sections:

1. Quantitative section: This section tests your skills in arithmetic, algebra, geometry, and data interpretation. The score range is 130-170, incrementing by one point. Therefore, the maximum score you can get for this section is 170.

2. Verbal section: This section measures your ability to understand, interpret, and analyze reading material, plus evaluate written material and how well you can express ideas through writing. Similar to the quantitative section, the score range is 130-170, incremented by one point. Hence, the top score you can earn in this section is also 170.

3. Analytical Writing section: This portion assesses your critical thinking skills and your ability to articulate complex ideas effectively and clearly. Unlike the previously mentioned sections, it is scored on a scale of 0-6, in half-point increments. Thus, the highest score you can achieve here is 6.

Adding them up, the highest possible cumulative score on the GRE is 346. However, the scores of the Verbal and Quantitative sections are often considered more heavily than the Analytical Writing score, so do take that into account when preparing for the test.
