University of Oregon Admissions?

Hey! I'm interested in applying to the University of Oregon but I'm feeling a little lost with all the admission stuff. Can anyone give me a rundown on what the application process looks like?

Absolutely, let's break this down.

Firstly, you'll have to complete your application, which you can find on the University's website. The University of Oregon accepts both the Common Application and the Coalition Application. There is also the Oregon application if you are only applying to schools in Oregon. No preference is given to any one application method. The application will include your personal information, academic history, and activities and accomplishments.

The University of Oregon requires an essay. The essay is a chance for you to give admissions a better idea of who you are beyond just grades and test scores. Make sure you take the time to really think about the prompt and put in the necessary effort to craft a thoughtful response.

Letters of recommendation are not required for admission to the University of Oregon, but they will consider up to four if you choose to submit them. Think carefully about who may be able to provide the most meaningful endorsement of your potential as a student.

You should also send your official high school transcripts as part of your application. If you have any college credits, make sure the transcripts for those are sent as well.

While the University of Oregon is test-optional, meaning you can choose whether or not to submit SAT or ACT scores, if you feel your scores are a positive reflection of your ability, go ahead and submit them.

Oregon has a priority deadline of January 15, so try to get your application in by that date. After that, applications are accepted on a rolling basis through September 1.

Once you've submitted your application, you can use the application status portal to track its progress.

Lastly, don't forget about applying for financial aid! You'll need to fill out a FAFSA. Oregon's priority deadline for the FAFSA is March 1.

Hope this helps, and good luck with your application process!
