Georgetown SAT Requirements

Hey y'all, I'm a junior seriously considering applying to Georgetown. Anyone knows what their SAT requirements are like? I'm also curious about how much weight they give to the SAT as part of your application. Thanks in advance.

Georgetown University, as a highly selective institution, tends to attract applicants who have strong SAT scores. Their middle 50% range typically falls in the range of 1410-1560. This doesn't mean that those are strict cutoffs, but keep in mind that being in or above that range will usually make you more competitive.

Although Georgetown does look at your SAT scores, they also consider other aspects of your application. These include your GPA, course rigor, letters of recommendation, essays, and extracurricular activities. In the case of standardized test scores, it's also worth noting that Georgetown, unlike some other selective schools, still requires them as of the 2024-2025 application cycle. This means your SAT score does play a significant role in your application.

While your SAT score is important, remember that it is just one aspect of your overall application. Having a score within Georgetown's middle 50% range certainly increases your odds, but it does not guarantee admission. Similarly, scores slightly below this range don't necessarily disqualify you, especially if you have a strong profile in other areas. Best of luck with your application process!
