Quality of National Student Leadership Conference?

Sup guys, I've been accepted into the National Student Leadership Conference and I'm super stoked about it. I looked up some reviews but they're pretty mixed, anyone personally attended this? Can you share your experience?

Congrats on the acceptance! It's understandable to have mixed feelings given the reviews, but here's some clarity. NSLC is a great program for personal growth, leadership development, and career exploration. Your experience will immensely depend on what you want to get out of it.

One of the qualities people often praise about NSLC is the exposure to different fields and professions through guest speakers, hands-on projects, educational simulations, and sight-seeing outings, depending on the specific session you're attending. It also usually involves staying on a college campus, which can be a fun opportunity to get an early taste of the college experience.

That said, NSLC can also be pricey, and it's worth noting that while participating in it could be an enriching and enjoyable experience, it doesn't necessarily hold a significant weight in college admissions. This is because it's a pay-to-participate program and isn't particularly selective, so admissions officers know that it doesn't necessarily demonstrate exceptional leadership or skills.

However, if you're looking for personal development, exposure to potential career paths, and the chance to meet other students from across the country and around the world, it might be well worth it. So, think about what your goals are and whether participating meets those goals. Make the choice that feels right for you and will contribute to your overall growth and exploration.
