NYU's Application Requirements?

Hello everyone! This is new territory for me and I really need your help. I'm thinking of applying to NYU but I'm unsure about the application requirements. What exactly do they ask for? Do they need essays, letters of recommendation, or something else I'm not thinking about? Thanks for your help, guys!

For admission into New York University (NYU), there are several requirements to keep in mind. This includes your high school transcript, extracurriculars, essays, and letters of recommendation. Let me break it down a bit for you:

1. School Transcript: NYU will require your high school transcripts to understand your academic performance.

2. Extracurriculars: This isn't a distinct requirement, per se, but they're crucial to your Common Application, which NYU accepts. Your extracurricular activities help NYU see your interests and commitments outside of academics.

3. Essays: As part of the Common Application or Coalition Application, you'll write a personal statement. Additionally, NYU requires a supplement essay where you explain why you're interested in the particular campus, school, college, or program to which you're applying at NYU. It's a chance to showcase your genuine interest in their programs.

4. Letters of Recommendation: NYU also requires letters of recommendation. They request one counselor recommendation and one teacher evaluation.

One important thing to note is that for the 2024-2025 application cycle, NYU is test-optional, which means you can choose whether or not you want to submit SAT or ACT scores. If you feel your scores enhance your application, you can include them, but if not, it's completely fine to leave them out.

Please make sure to check NYU's admissions website directly for the most current and accurate information. Good luck with your application!
