SAT requirements of UC Berkeley?

Hi peeps, stressed junior here just wondering about the SAT requirements for UC Berkeley! I'm setting my bar high but need to know what I'm aiming for. Anybody got any insight into this?

Hi there! It's great that you're looking towards setting your academic goals early. However, you should be aware that UC Berkeley, along with all other University of California schools, has adopted a test-blind policy. This change was implemented starting from the Fall 2021 application season.

What this means is that UC Berkeley will not consider SAT or ACT scores in the admission process, even if you decide to include them in your application. They made this shift in hopes of making higher education more accessible to students from all backgrounds, and to decrease the weight placed on standardized tests.

Instead, the school will put greater emphasis on factors like your GPA, the rigor of your high school courses, your personal essays, and your extracurricular activities. They're interested in understanding who you are as a person and what you could bring to their community.

So, while it's important to do well academically, remember to also invest time and energy into your passions outside of the classroom. Strive to develop a well-rounded application and utilize the essays to represent your personality, experiences, and goals best.
