Sorta stressed about UC San Diego's GPA requirements

Hey, I've been looking into different UCs and, of course, UCSD is kind of up there on my list. Anyone knows what the average GPA for admitted students is? Trying to gauge my chances here, thanks in advance!

Hello,

UC San Diego, like most UCs, uses a weighted and capped GPA for admission decisions. The weighted and capped GPA includes extra points for up to eight semesters of UC approved honors courses taken in 11th and 12th grades, but it restricts the maximum to 4.00. On this scale, the middle 50% for admitted students tend to have an average GPA range of approximately 3.0 - 4.00.

However, do keep in mind that GPA is just one aspect of your application. UC San Diego, like other universities in the UC system, also looks at your course rigor, extracurriculars, essays, and leadership experience when reviewing your application. So, while a strong GPA can certainly strengthen your application, you'll also want to focus on these other aspects to make your application stand out.

Best of luck!
