Is my SAT Score Good Enough for UMD?

Hey y'all! I'm pretty stressed about my SAT score—does anyone know what average SAT score UMD (University of Maryland) looks for in applications? Could really use some clarity right now.

When looking at the University of Maryland (UMD), it's important to remember that these kinds of averages are just that — averages. They serve as a general guide rather than a hard line.

For UMD, the mid 50% range of SAT scores for admitted students tends to fluctuate between roughly 1370 and 1510 out of 1600. What this means is that 25% of admitted students scored below 1370, while another 25% scored above 1510.

Remember, though, that while these numbers provide some context, they are not the entire story of an application. UMD, like many colleges, uses a holistic review process, meaning they consider many factors in addition to test scores, such as your high school GPA, course rigor, personal essays, extracurricular activities, and more.

That being said, if you find your SAT score is below the mid-50% range, it wouldn't hurt to consider re-taking the test if you believe you can improve your score. Good luck!
