Average SAT Scores for UMich

Hi friends, recently checked out some stats for UofM and I'm curious about their average SAT scores. Anyone have any inside information or know how they stack up overall? Just started studying and I don't know if my goal is too high or too low. Please let me know.

The average SAT score for admitted students at the University of Michigan (UMich) tends to be relatively high due to the university's selective nature. For the most recent admitted class, the middle 50% of students had an SAT score between 1350 and 1530. This means that 25% of students scored below 1350, and 25% of students scored above 1530.

Given this, students aiming to be strongly competitive for UMich should aim for an SAT score within or above this range. However, remember that UMich, like most colleges, evaluates applicants holistically. While standardized test scores are a significant factor at UMich (they are moving back to requiring SAT or ACT scores for the 2024-2025 application cycle), they are just one aspect of your application. Your grades, course rigor, essays, and extracurriculars will also make a big difference.

In terms of studying, if your scores are currently near the lower end of the range, it might be a good idea to consider practicing consistently to try to increase them. Lots of resources exist, like The Bluebook™ app which simulates the new digital SAT and allows you to take a full-length practice test.

Best of luck with your SAT studying and your application to UMich!
