Hey, I'm preparing for my SATs and Virginia Tech is one of my top choices. Does anyone know what the average SAT score is for admitted students? Any advice would be great!
The middle 50% SAT scores of admitted students at Virginia Tech typically range roughly from 1210 to 1410. If you fall within or preferably above this range, you're more likely to be competitive in the admissions process.
However, it's important to remember that test scores are just one element of your application. Virginia Tech will also take into consideration your grade point average (GPA), your course rigor (AP/IB classes, etc.), your extracurricular activities, letters of recommendation, and your essays.
To boost your chances of admission, aim to have an SAT score in the higher end of the range or beyond and strengthen other parts of your application as well. For instance, demonstrate your passion and leadership in your extracurricular activities as this can be just as important, if not more so, than your test scores. Remember, quality over quantity is key when it comes to extracurricular engagements. And of course, be sure to proofread your essays and get feedback from teachers or coaches who know you well.
That said, continue preparing for your SATs, doing your best in school, and honing your skills and passions outside the classroom. Best of luck with your SAT prep and the entire college application process!
