Interpreting a 4.4 GPA in college admissions

So I've maintained a 4.4 GPA throughout high school so far, but I'm unsure about how colleges will perceive it. Is this considered a 'high' GPA? Would it compensate for other weaknesses in my application, like extracurriculars or testing?

A 4.4 GPA is generally considered strong and indicates that you've been performing well in your classes and taking some advanced coursework, such as honors, AP or IB classes, which have a higher weight in GPA calculations.
