SAT Score Reporting Time?

Hey, everyone! Can you tell me, how long does it typically take to get the SAT scores back after the test? Want to make sure I have sufficient time to plan ahead if I don't get the score I'm hoping for.

Sure thing! Test takers typically receive their SAT scores about 10-12 days after the exam, although this timeline may vary slightly depending on the specific testing date. On the day scores are released, you'll typically be able to access your online score report starting at 8 a.m. Eastern Time.

However, these reported scores won't include the essay portion if you chose to take it; those come out a bit later, usually within ten days of receiving your multiple-choice scores.

If you're planning on retaking the test, the College Board typically offers the SAT seven times a year, so you should be able to find a testing date that gives you enough time to review and prep for your next attempt. Keep in mind the application deadlines for the schools to which you're applying to ensure your scores will be sent in time.

For example, suppose you know a college you're interested in has a January 1st deadline. In this case, you might plan to take your last SAT no later than the November date, just to be on the safe side and allow for score reporting delays. This also gives you some leeway if for some reason you need to send a rushed score report to a college.
