What's a good GPA for getting into Purdue University?

Hey y'all, been grinding that GPA game. Does anyone know what kinda GPA range Purdue University typically takes into consideration? Thanks!

The average GPA for admitted freshmen at Purdue University is generally around a 3.69 on a 4.0 scale. However, keep in mind that Purdue does consider a high school student's academic rigor, the difficulty of coursework, and the trend of grades over time too.

So, a student with slightly below that GPA might still make the cut if they've taken challenging classes or shown strong progress over their high school career. Conversely, a 3.7+ GPA but poor curriculum rigor could be cause for concern.

It's always a good idea to aim as high as you can and remember that GPA isn't the only factor that Purdue (or any university, really) looks at. Extracurricular activities, recommendation letters, essays, class rank, the SAT/ACT score (since Purdue will require a standardized test score again for the 2024-2025 application cycle) are also important elements of a holistic admissions process.

In other words, even if your GPA is within Purdue's range, it does not guarantee admission. And similarly, even if your GPA is slightly below the average, it doesn't rule out your chance of getting in. So continue to aim for a strong GPA, but don’t lose sight of the other components of your application. Good luck!
