What GPA does UPenn usually expect?

I'm setting my sights on UPenn but not sure how my GPA matches up. Can anyone help me out with info on the average GPA of accepted students? I really want to have a realistic view of my admission prospects.

As of the latest data, the University of Pennsylvania, similar to other Ivy League schools, generally expects high academic standards from its applicants. The majority of admitted students typically have a GPA in the range of 3.9-4.0 (unweighted, on a 4.0 scale). This standard, however, should be seen as a benchmark and not a strict cut-off.

That said, you should keep in mind that these are average values. Having a GPA within this range does not guarantee admission, and conversely, a GPA below this range does not necessarily preclude you from being admitted. Admissions decisions are multifaceted and consider various factors beyond just your GPA, including course rigor, standardized test scores, letters of recommendation, essays, and extracurricular involvement, to name a few.

Remember, striving to increase your GPA is beneficial, but it's also equally important to cultivate your passions and demonstrate a "spike" in your extracurriculars. Universities value students who exhibit excellent academic performance while also displaying strong involvement and leadership in their activities outside the classroom.

Finally, use UPenn's net price calculator (https://npc.collegeboard.org/app/upenn) to confirm that you will be able to afford the school if you do get in.
