Convert ACT Score to SAT

Hey everyone! I've got a score of 31 on the ACT, but a lot of the colleges I'm looking into seem to focus more on SAT scores. Could someone give me an idea of what my SAT equivalent would be? Do most colleges even consider ACT scores?

Hi there! To get a rough equivalent of your ACT score in SAT terms, we use something called a concordance table which cross-references ACT and SAT scores. Using this, a 31 on the ACT roughly translates to an SAT score of around 1390 to 1410. This can differ slightly based on the specific administrations of the test, but it's generally a good guideline.

And yes, absolutely, colleges do consider ACT scores! The ACT is accepted by every college and university that requires standardized test scores in the United States. Some students choose to take the ACT over the SAT based on their personal strengths, as the tests have different focuses. The SAT emphasizes problem-solving and critical thinking, while the ACT leans more toward straightforward knowledge and understanding. Of course, both require critical thinking and problem-solving skills, but the emphasis is slightly different.

In short, don't worry about colleges not considering your ACT score! It's as valid as an SAT score when it comes to your application.
