Hey, Notre Dame is on top of my college list and I'm wondering what ACT score they're looking for. Has anybody recently applied there and can shed some light on this?
The University of Notre Dame, like many highly selective institutions, doesn't explicitly state a 'required' ACT score. They tend to evaluate applicants holistically, meaning your ACT score is just one of the many factors they consider during the application review process.
However, to give you an idea, the middle 50% range for ACT scores of enrolled first-year students in recent classes at Notre Dame has typically ranged from about 33 to 35. This means that 25% of students scored below a 33 and 25% of students scored above a 35.
Remember, scoring within or above this range does not guarantee admission, just as scoring below it doesn't rule out admission. This score should be supplemented with a competitive academic profile, quality essays, strong extracurriculars, and good letters of recommendation.
Also, note that for the 2024-2025 application cycle, Notre Dame is still test-optional, so they do not currently require all students to submit an SAT or ACT score.
I hope that helps to answer your question!
