Hi everybody! I've been studying for the SAT and found out that some exams offer a formula sheet. Is there anything like that for the Math SAT?
For the SAT, unfortunately, unlike some mathematics exams, there is no provided formula sheet. You are required to memorize the necessary formulas and properties. However, you'll be happy to hear that most of the formulas you'll need are pretty basic and you have probably already learned them in your math classes.
Some common formulas and concepts that you'll need to know include the Pythagorean theorem, area and volume formulas for various shapes, properties of special triangles (e.g. 30-60-90 and 45-45-90 triangles), quadratic formula, and rules for manipulating equations (distributive property, combining like terms, etc).
One of the few exceptions to the no-formula-sheet rule is that the SAT does provide a diagram of a circle and a right triangle in the test booklet, but these are very basic and do not include most of the formulas you'll need to know. So, it's a good idea to start memorizing and practicing with these formulas now. Good luck with your studying!
