Hello everybody! I've been preparing for the SAT, and I'm somewhat confused about something. What's the max score you can obtain on the SAT? I've heard a few different things.
The current maximum score you can achieve on the SAT is 1600, divided into two sections - Math and Evidence-based Reading and Writing. Each section is scored on a scale of 200 to 800, and the composite score is the summation of these two. If you're aiming to reach a score in the top percentile, most successful candidates to highly selective universities have scores in the high 1400s or above. It's a good idea to set a target score based on the colleges you're interested in. You can often find the middle 50% SAT scores of admitted students on a college's admissions page. Good luck with your preparation!
