UCF ACT requirements: what's actually needed?

Hey y'all. I'm eyeing the UCF (University of Central Florida). Can anyone help me understand their ACT requirements?

Sure, happy to help with that!

As per the last data we have available, the middle 50% ACT composite score range for UCF is 25-29. This means that 50% of UCF students score between a 25 and 29 on the ACT. The middle 50% range is a good guide for where you'd want your score to fall to be competitive.

However, UCF is a test-optional school, meaning you aren't required to submit ACT or SAT scores for admissions consideration. Not sending scores will not negatively impact your application—the decision is entirely up to you.

If you believe your scores strengthen your application and indicate your academic ability well, feel free to include them. If you think some other aspect of your application better represents your academic ability—such as your class grades or your essays—you could opt not to send test scores.

Most importantly, regardless of your choice regarding testing: ensure that the rest of your application communicates your talents, commitment, leadership, and other qualities that show you're a well-rounded applicant who will contribute positively to the UCF community. You could do so through essays that hone in on your individual growth experiences and attributes, and through a well-curated list of extracurricular activities that show your unique qualities.

Good luck with your application!
