Uncertainty About Dartmouth Acceptance Rate

Hey guys! Dartmouth has been my dream school for the longest time and I'm trying to understand my chances. I'm a little worried about the acceptance rate though. Anyone has the latest stats on Dartmouth's acceptance rate?

Sure, I can help with that. Dartmouth College, being one of the Ivy League schools, is known for its selective admissions. For the Class of 2025, Dartmouth's acceptance rate was around 6.9%, a slight decrease from the previous year. This rate might vary slightly from year to year, but in general, Dartmouth's acceptance rate has traditionally been on the lower side, reflecting its high level of selectivity.

If Dartmouth is your dream school, it's important to focus on creating a compelling application, beyond just understanding acceptance rates. Dartmouth looks at several factors which include academic achievement shown through your transcript, standardized test scores (Dartmouth reinstated the requirement of SAT/ACT scores beginning with the 2024-2025 application cycle), essays, and extracurricular involvement among others. Your essays, for instance, are particularly important, as they help Dartmouth understand who you are as an individual and what you could bring to their campus community.

Of course, the acceptance rate is only one data point, you might also want to look at the profile of admitted students to get a better idea of your chances. The middle 50% SAT scores for Dartmouth's Class of 2025 were between 1550-1600, and the middle 50% ACT scores were between 33-35. The average GPA was around 4.09.

Remember, every application is unique and these numbers are just averages. There are always students who get accepted with below-average scores and GPAs, and students who get rejected with above-average scores and GPAs. Looking at these averages just gives you an idea of where you need to be to be competitive.
