Are 'open admission' colleges a good option?

Hey everyone, I recently came across some colleges with 'open admissions'. Could anyone explain what that exactly means? Do these colleges provide a good education? I'm considering all my options.

Open admissions is a policy some colleges and universities have where they admit virtually all students who have a high school diploma or a GED, with no other academic performance or selective criteria like grades or test scores factoring in. These schools often focus on areas such as community engagement, adult education, and continuing education while providing an array of degrees and certificates.
