Confused about SAT Scoring

Hey guys, I have probably a real simple question but here it goes: what are the SATs out of? I've heard different numbers thrown around, but I'm not certain. Thanks for helping a junior out!

The SAT is scored out of a maximum of 1600 points. This score is divided between two sections, which are the Math section and Evidence-Based Reading and Writing section. Each section is scored on a scale of 200-800, and the scores from both sections are added together to give you your total SAT score.

For example, if you score 680 on the Math section and 720 on the Evidence-Based Reading and Writing section, your total SAT score would be 1400.

Keep in mind that on the digital SAT, you're given around 71 seconds per question for the Reading and Writing section and 96 seconds per question for the Math section. Understanding the scoring and timing of the test can definitely help with strategizing how to approach it.

It's worth noting that while your total score is paramount, the detailed score report also breaks down your performance in more specific skill areas, which might be helpful for studying and improving in the future. Good luck with your studies!
