ACT scores for Harvard University?

I'm a junior plotting out my college application strategy, and I'm really interested in Harvard. I'm taking the ACT soon and I was wondering, what's a 'good' score range to aim for to be competitive for Harvard? Any insights would really help me level my expectations and plan my studying better. Thanks in advance!

Harvard is among the most selective universities in the United States, with a low acceptance rate and high academic standards. It's important to remember that a strong ACT score alone won't guarantee your acceptance, as Harvard looks for students who excel in their high school coursework, extracurricular activities, and leadership experiences. Your essays and recommendations must also stand out, as these are parts of your application where Harvard can learn more about your character, interests, and motivation.

That said, the middle 50% ACT score range for Harvard admissions typically falls between about 33 to 35. Please note that these scores represent a range and not cutoffs - there are admitted students with scores below and above this range.

Therefore, reaching a score within this middle 50% range could be a good initial goal. However, keep in mind that a higher score is not a guarantee of acceptance, and a score below this range also doesn't make you ineligible. At this level of selectivity, all components of your application will be critically reviewed. Therefore, it's equally important to dedicate time and attention to your coursework, extracurriculars, and other parts of the application process.

Remember that Harvard, like other Ivy League schools, considers your application holistically and not purely based on standardized test scores. So, while a high ACT score can certainly contribute to a competitive application, it's one piece of a larger picture.
