What kinda stats do I need for Ball State?

Hey, I was curious if anyone knew something about Ball State's acceptance rate? I'm really interested in this school and wanted to know how competitive it is to get accepted. Thanks in advance.

Ball State University is moderately competitive in terms of admissions. As of recent data, Ball State reported having an acceptance rate of approximately 65%.

Admitted students typically have fairly strong academic records. On a 4.0 scale, the average high school GPA for admitted students is approximately 3.17 to 3.81.

As from the 2024-25 cycle, Ball State University is a test-optional institution. This means applicants have the choice of whether to submit their SAT or ACT scores. Test-optional policies can be beneficial for students who feel that their SAT or ACT scores don't accurately measure their academic potential or for those who may not have had the opportunity to take the tests due to the impacts of the pandemic.

If you choose to submit your test scores and you’re curious about where yours might fit in, the middle 50% range for SAT scores in the most recent admissions cycle was approximately 1080–1210. For ACT scores, the middle 50% ranged between 21 and 23. Keep in mind, however, these are ranges—not cutoffs.

To boost your chances of admission, strong extracurricular involvement can also be a plus. It's beneficial to focus not just on the quantity, but the quality of your activities—particularly those which demonstrate your leadership skills or deep involvement. Ball State, like many colleges, appreciates students who can contribute meaningfully to their campus community.

Finally, an engaging and authentic personal statement can leave a solid impression by providing a deep insight into your experiences, goals, and personality. It allows the admissions committee to know you beyond your academic and extracurricular involvements.

Be sure to check the specific admission requirements for your prospective major, if applicable. Remember that these are averages and you shouldn’t be discouraged if your scores are slightly below. Each application is reviewed holistically, taking into account your strengths and individual circumstances.

Of course, having a strong academic profile increases the likelihood of being admitted, but there are many other factors that come into play in the admissions process. Ultimately, the university is looking for candidates who will be a good fit for the institution and who will take full advantage of the opportunities presented to them.

Hope this information helps, and best of luck with your college application journey!
