Hello peeps, I was just curious about the SAT test that we all seem to be taking. I know it's really important, but does anyone know what SAT actually stands for?
The SAT originally stood for Scholastic Aptitude Test. However, it was later renamed to the Scholastic Assessment Test, then to SAT I: Reasoning Test, then simply to SAT Reasoning Test, and now, it is known simply as the SAT. Interestingly, today the SAT does not officially stand for anything; it's just known by those three letters. The name changes were a result of shifting philosophies about what the exam was designed to measure and how it should be used in the college admissions process. With the test having become fully digital in 2024, these philosophies and the structure of the exam continue to evolve.
