SAT Requirements for Texas A&M: What are they?

Hey all, rising senior, pretty darn stressed. Does anyone know the average SAT score for admitted students at Texas A&M? I have been rigorously studying and want to know if I'm on the right track, or if I should focus more on my essays and extracurriculars because my score is already competitive.

Texas A&M University does still require the SAT for admission. However, it's important to remember that competitive scores can vary by college and specific programs within the university.

As it stands, the middle 50% SAT score range for admitted students at Texas A&M tends to be around 1160-1380. This means that 25% of admitted students scored below 1160, and 25% scored above 1380. A score within this range would make you a competitive applicant, and a score above this range would make you an exceptionally competitive applicant.

However, keep in mind that universities use a holistic approach when evaluating applications; you have a greater chance of acceptance if your application is well-rounded – that is, strong in all areas (grades, test scores, essays, extracurriculars). Considering this, it wouldn't hurt to also focus on your essays and extracurricular activities, regardless of your current SAT score.

Remember that just because you meet the SAT scores, doesn't guarantee acceptance, but it's definitely a step in the right direction. On the flip side, an SAT score below the stated range does not automatically rule you out either, particularly if your application is strong in other areas.

Good luck and don't stress too much! You're doing a great job by being proactive and seeking help.
