U of M SAT score range?

Hi community! I was wondering what kind of SAT score I should aim for if I want to apply to the University of Michigan? Just a ballpark figure or a range would be really helpful. Thanks in advance!

For the University of Michigan (UMich), the middle 50% of recently admitted students have SAT scores between 1350 and 1530. That's a rough guide so keep in mind it's not a strict cut-off. If your scores are within this range, you are generally going to be academically competitive.

If your scores are higher than this range, it could potentially make your application even stronger. If your SAT scores are lower than 1350, it doesn't automatically mean a rejection. There are other factors such as your essays, extracurriculars and letters of recommendation that also play significant roles in the admissions decision.

Also, keep in mind that as of the 2024-2025 application cycle, UMich is still test-optional, meaning you can choose whether to submit standardized test scores with your application. However, if do you decide to apply test-optional, other facets of your application, like GPA and extracurricular activities, will be weighed heavier in the admissions process.
