Steps to cancel the SAT?

With everything going on, I'm rethinking my decision to take the SAT. Can someone guide me on how to cancel it and whether there's any refund policy?

Sure, here's how you can cancel your SAT registration:

1. You can cancel your SAT registration at any time, though the amount you will be refunded is dependent on when you cancel.

2. To initiate a cancellation, you will need to contact the College Board directly. This can be done by phone, but the quickest way is usually to do it online through your College Board account.

3. After logging in to your account, go to 'My SAT' and your upcoming tests should be displayed there. Find the test you want to cancel and there should be an option to do so.

4. Follow the prompts to complete the cancellation.

As for the refund policy, it's important to know that you typically don't get a full refund when you cancel your SAT test. Refund amounts can vary, but as a general rule, students should expect to pay a cancellation fee that will come out of their refund when they cancel their test five or more days before test day. If you cancel less than five days before the test, no refund is given.

Remember, if you're cancelling due to changes in your college application strategy, make sure you're staying informed about test-optional policies and requirements at your schools of interest. Make sure to discuss your decision with a counselor or an adviser before making a final decision.
