Highest possible PSAT score?

Hey friends! I'm a junior who's recently started prepping for my PSAT. I'm wondering, what's the highest possible PSAT score? I want to know what to aim for. Your guidance would be appreciated, thank you in advance!

Hello! The highest possible score on the PSAT is 1520. The test is divided into two sections: Evidence-Based Reading and Writing, and Math. Both sections are equally weighted and each has a maximum score of 760, hence the maximum combined score of 1520.

However, remember that a perfect score is not a must-have to qualify for National Merit - although it certainly doesn't hurt! The exact score required to become a National Merit Semifinalist varies year by year and is also dependent on the state you live in. Thankfully, the PSAT/NMSQT cutoffs generally fall below the maximum score.

As you prepare, don't just aim for a specific score. Take full-length practice tests, review your wrong answers, and work on strengthening your weaker areas. This way, you're likely to see a steady improvement. That's the best approach to test prep. Good luck with your preparations!
