ACT Scores Accepted by Cornell University

While Cornell University has been test-optional for the past couple of application cycles due to COVID-19, they are requiring standardized test scores again starting from the 2025-2026 application cycle. In terms of the ACT scores they typically accept, the middle 50% range is generally between 33 and 35. This means that 25% of accepted students scored below a 33, while another 25% scored above a 35.

Cornell will superscore the ACT which means they'll take the highest composite score from all test dates. They will also consider the highest individual section scores from all test dates and create a new superscored composite score. Cornell will use this superscore for their process, which is good news since it allows you to focus on improving one section at a time if you decide to retake the ACT.

Keep in mind that while test scores are a significant component in admissions decisions at Cornell, they're not the only factor.
